Many thanks to all who helped make this year’s Block Party a success! Even the threat of a severe thunderstorm didn’t dampen our festivities! Thank you to all who donated, and all who helped, with set up and with serving! I would like to thank you all personally, but I’m not sure I saw everyone that helped…so if you did….THANK YOU! A huge shout out to Boy Scout Troop 427 for all their help. Many thanks to the committee that helped to organize this event, Kurt, Kody and Pam Beiswenger, Barb and Jim Wiley, Judy McCurdy, and Shelley Harmych. Looking forward to another great event next year!
Speaking of the block party, there are leftovers! Please join us in the Fellowship Hall after church for hotdogs, beans, watermelon, chips, cookies, and whatever else! Afterwards, the remainder of the chips will be donated to Amherst High School’s Leo Club Backpack project that sends food home with needy kids for the weekend. Our September Noisy Collection will be donated to this project as well.
Part of our block party was the Amherst Police Department’s Cram the Cruiser. If you peeked in either of the cruisers at the block party, you saw that they had a very successful collection, and today’s Noisy Collection will go toward that as well. We can be very proud of our efforts!
