The Transition Team is on a Quest and we have another great food event planned for you as we move forward to finalizing our data for the future Search Team. Calling All Youth!!

Calling all youth! Vermilion UCCCis inviting youth grades 6-12 and their chaperones to an overnighter to help Denison Avenue UCC help the homeless! The overnighter will be held at Vermilion UCCC (990 State St., Vermilion, OH) from 7 pm Sat. February 22 through Sunday morning worship Feb.23. Games, activities, and presentations will focus on the issue of housing insecurity. Registration is FREE, but youth are encouraged to collect donations to benefit Denison UCC - see the flyer for more details! Advent Workshop December 8, 2019 3-5 pm Join St Peters on the second Sunday of Advent for anafternoon of childrens Christmas crafts. Examples of the crafts will be available in the Fellowship hall and during the week, theWalker lobby starting November 17. Each child will receive 6tickets to redeem for 6 crafts.Light supper will be provided at approximately 4:15 pm.Cost is $5 per person. Neighbors in Need

It is that time of year again where we give our offerings to the Neighbors in Need for the month of September. Remember, two thirds of the offering is used by the U.C.Cs Justice and Witness Ministries to fund a wide array of local and national justice initiatives, advocacy efforts and direct service projects. One third of the offering supports the U.C.C.s Council for American Indian Ministries. If you would like to donate online you can do so at ucc.org/nin.

Mission Committee Needs Volunteers!

Mission Committee is in need of volunteers to help serve meals at St. Elisabeth Homeless Shelter located at 2726 Caroline Ave. near Broadway Ave. in Lorain. Mission committee serves meals the last Wednesday of each month from 4-6PM. If interested in volunteering, please contact Betty Pekare at 245-1231.

Block Party

Many thanks to all who helped make this years Block Party a success! Even the threat of a severe thunderstorm didnt dampen our festivities! Thank you to all who donated, and all who helped, with set up and with serving! I would like to thank you all personally, but Im not sure I saw everyone that helpedso if you did.THANK YOU! A huge shout out to Boy Scout Troop 427 for all their help. Many thanks to the committee that helped to organize this event, Kurt, Kody and Pam Beiswenger, Barb and Jim Wiley, Judy McCurdy, and Shelley Harmych. Looking forward to another great event next year! Speaking of the block party, there are leftovers! Please join us in the Fellowship Hall after church for hotdogs, beans, watermelon, chips, cookies, and whatever else! Afterwards, the remainder of the chips will be donated to Amherst High Schools Leo Club Backpack project that sends food home with needy kids for the weekend. The OCC remains devoted in its 100th year to tackling the problems of racism through ecumenical partnership and vision. We in the Ohio Conference had already begun engaging with the OCC in discussions around hosting an event focused on ending racism; this event is one of the fruits of that discernment. For this event, with our assistance, the OCC has lined up workshops, worship, celebrations, and reflections around the work to fight racism. Our commitment to working with ecumenical partners like the OCC to arrange for continuing anti-racism work in our communities is just one of the ways your Conference is offering service to our members and churches.
