Circle Six

Circle Six:
A Social Group for Women of the church...

that began in 1938 when a group of young ladies met in the home of Mrs. E. Wavrick for the purpose of organizing a circle of young members of St. Peter’s Evangelical Church.

Today, Circle Six lives on with its current members meeting once a month, the first Tuesday of the month at 6 PM, from September through June, keeping the spirit of those founding young women alive. It has grown to become an integral part of St. Peter’s and is a nurturing and giving arm of the church.

Through our group projects we are able to provide financial support to many local charities. Projects such as

baking and selling pumpkin rolls, a cookie sale at Christmas time and a bake sale for Easter have allowed our group to make annual donations to organizations such as:

Mary Lee Tucker
Genesis House
USO (Wounded Warriors)
Second Harvest
Salvation Army
St. Judes
Lucy Idol Center
Blessing House
Amherst Food Pantry
Red Cross
Clothe A Child
Children’s Development Center

The ladies of Circle Six also make mission blankets that are given with love to members of the church that are hospitalized or home bound. One of the most important functions of our group is to provide funeral luncheons for the families of members of our church who have passed on to be with our Lord.

Our meetings are not all work though–we have fun too! There is an annual anniversary dinner, an annual picnic, and many of our meetings have entertainment or informational programs.

Come check out St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, and while you’re there, be sure to check out Circle Six too!

God Bless you and yours.
